#1 You Already Are A Storyteller.
It’s no secret that a piece of content that tells a story performs better than content that doesn’t, keeping other factors constant!
The good news is that we all are storytellers since we started getting words out of our mouths! I am sure you remember your childhood time when you used to entertain (or bore!) people with your childish stories. Don’t you?
While as a child, you told stories naturally and effortlessly. Now, as a grown-up, you can tell stories intentionally and with little effort. I think these Seven Storytelling Techniques shared by Nayomi Chibana on Visme’s Blog can help you become a better storyteller.
#2 Your Guide To Deliver Unified Content Experience.
Today, you publish content on different platforms, including your blog or company website, different social media platforms, and community sites.
While it’s important to modify the content to suit the tone and audience of each platform, in the process, you should not miss your brand voice and consistency. Content for every platform should be designed in such a way that it delivers a unified, consistent, and connected experience for your audience and link everything to your brand and what it has to offer. That’s where the concept of Omnichannel Content Strategy comes in.

#3 Content Is King — Bill Gates In 1996.
“Content is King” — That’s a ubiquitous phrase every content marketer sees or hears almost every day, me included.
However, until this week, little did I know that it’s Bill Gates who coined this “Content is King” phrase while sharing his vision on the future of content marketing through his self-written essay in 1996.
While Gates’ essay on content marketing has seen more than two decades, I found it insightful in the context of current marketing trends too. If you also want those insights, head on to Content Is King By Bill Gates, thankfully made available by Craig Bailey.
#4 Don’t Get Stuck For Perfection.
Perfection and excellence are not the same, but very different. Perfection stops. Excellence helps you move forward.
To get results, your writing—or any other work you do— doesn’t have to be perfect, but excellent. So, if you have drafts lying in your notebook (that you feel are not perfect), get them out today and publish. I am imperfect; this newsletter is imperfect; the world is imperfect; everything is imperfect. Why does your work need to be perfect?
So, do keep moving forward — Chase perfection in pursuit of excellence. Publish all your excellent and imperfect work today.
#5 Brand Campaign Spotlight: Mailchimp.
In Mailchimp’s own words, Mailchimp Presents is “Short-form series, films, and podcasts created with entrepreneurs in mind.”
From the content marketing perspective, there is more to Mailchimp Presents beyond celebrating entrepreneurial spirit. Targeted to entertain people who are interested in entrepreneurship and creativity—and make them aware of Mailchimp products along the way— Mailchimp suitably describes Mailchimp Presents as “Business Entertainment Platform.”
At its core, Mailchimp Presents it is not branded content but kind of content majority of which is of entertainment value to the target audience of Mailchimp. That makes Mailchimp Presents a one-of-its-kind content marketing campaign.
From my perspective, it is one of the first times when an Email Marketing Company, which in no way in the business of entertainment, seeks to target and convert its prospects majorly at the back of entertaining content – no advertisement, no typical branded content fluff, but simply kind of entertainment that only Mailchimp target audience can relate to. I found it an amazingly innovative form of content marketing.
#6 Add to Your Toolkit: Evernote.
After trying OneNote, Apple Notes, and Zoho Notebook, I am finally happy using Evernote for taking notes, recording random ideas, and doing writing work on the go. Once the raw draft of my post is ready in Evernote, I pull that in Word 365 on my PC in the custom blog template designed by me, make final edits, and put Grammarly check with Grammarly extension for Word. Finally, I get a polished version of my post, ready to go online.
#7 LinkedIn Spotlight: Deliver Value. Growth Will Follow.
