Hello, friends!

Cheers from Vishnu! I welcome you to the Marketing Sip Sunday Newsletter—February 16, 2020 issue. Enjoy featured snippets and my notes on this week’s stories that I found most informing, educating, persuading, inspiring, entertaining, and unique for content creators and marketing professionals:

#1 No Machine Automation Guide For The Content Creator In You.

Often, we couple automation with machines and some smart tools powered by AI. However, in the case of content creation, automation is more than machines and tools.

If you create content daily, you know what repetitive tasks you have to deal with. If you lead a team of writers, you know how much effort it takes to train a newbie. If you write blog posts every day, you know how frustrating it can be to start from scratch every time. The question is: Are there any smart ways around all these things?

Yes. Marijana Kostelac’s 6 Powerful Ways to Streamline Your Content Marketing Workflows culminates better ways to fix your content creation workflow and add the power of automation to your efforts.

#2 The Art Of Crafting An About Page.

When you are building about me page for a personal website or crafting content for about us page of a corporation, you are working on one of the most important pages of the website. That’s because people who are interested in you or your company will surely visit your about page to get a better idea of who you are.

So, don’t let your next visitor leave unimpressed by your about page. To level up your about page impression, get inspiration from 15 of the Best ‘About Us’ & ‘About Me’ Pages curated by Lindsay Kolowich on HubSpot.

#3 Did A Machine Write That Content?

I am asking you this question regarding the latest sport or stock market update or the news piece you recently read. Because, you know, now Machine Learning is making a dent in your field too, i.e., content writing and marketing.

Thanks to AI, machines can now write simple and data-driven articles on topics like finance and stock markets. In the age of AI and Machine Learning, only humanizing your writing and marketing style will save you. So, catch up AI & Machine Learning Trends in Content Marketing explained by Nate Nead and get ready to befriend the new technology to win challenges in the content field.

#4 Running Short On Writing Ideas?

Most writers (me included) struggle to find new ideas for writing. If you are one of them and running short on your writing ideas, Matthew’s tip—Compound Writing: 4 Ways to Easily Think of Your Next 1000 Words— can help.

#5 Brand Campaign Spotlight: British Airways.

I am yet to see a brand that tells stories as powerfully as British Airways. On British Airways YouTube channel, the airline company frequently shares stories of adding happiness and care to the life of people through its hospitality and awesome people. It establishes British Airways as more than just a company that is in the business of flying people from one place to another.

Every video you see on the British Airways channel makes you feel closer and connected to the brand and makes you think that next time you will fly only British Airways. That’s a very rare emotional connection a brand can create with the help of the stories of its customers-turned-loyal-fans.

[My favorite from British Airways: Fuelled by Love.]

#6 Add to Your Toolkit: Canva.

While most of you might already be familiar with more-than-popular graphic designing tool Canva, I want to recommend this tool, taking no assumption! The first logo of Marketing Sip and most of the graphics you see on Marketing Sip or other websites of mine are made with Canva.

If you have not gotten your hands on Canva yet, feel free to create your free Canva account today. The free version of Canva offers more than you need to get started, and you can unlock full functionality (like transparent background images, stock photos, illustrations, etc.) with Canva Pro, which costs US$9.95 per month when paid annually or US$12.95 when paid monthly.

#7 LinkedIn Spotlight: Writers Are Humans Too.

To all those who lose their cool seeing mistakes in the work of a writer:

• Writers are humans too.
• Errors may creep in writing, even if all care is taken while writing and editing.
• Pick any book and read the disclaimer regarding the possibility of errors. You will get an idea!
• For more, refer to the screenshot attached to this post. (Yes. Writing mistakes does happen in international publications too. And it happens daily.)

A humble request: Please have empathy for writers in your team, as well as all your peers. Working together, what’s wrong can be made right.

[BTW, What’s your take on it? Let me know on LinkedIn.]

🌱 Keep Doing Good Stuff

Keep Doing Good Stuff is an initiative to inspire each person on the planet Keep Doing Good Stuff

If you have not joined the movement yet, I invite you to join from The Beginning right now.

[P.S.: No full stop on Keep Doing Good Stuff]

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for less, but worthy!
